Japan Exporting Captured Dolphins for Profit

Every year in small towns along the Japanese coast from October through March, fishermen herd together and kill about 20,000 marine mammals in the largest massacre of dolphins anywhere in the world.

Most of them are butchered for meat, while a few choice specimens are sold to marine parks.

The town of Taiji is currently planning to sell eight dolphins captured in the drive fishery to a Chinese marine park.
