In vitro meat was hailed as the world’s solution to looming environmental problems caused by industrial meat production. That was until the science lost its way. This week, a group of leading international researchers are meeting to try to steer it back on course(...)

.. despite a $1 million prize offered by animal rights organisation PETA to any scientist who can actually manage to create a steak in a test-tube, along with millions of euros of Dutch government funding, no one has quite figured out how to produce in vitro meat....
