Rwanda/Congo: SOS ToddlersCritically endangered young mountain gorillas face bleak future11 August 2011 Usually they aren't even a year old when young mountain gorillas are being snatched by poachers to be sold into the pet-slavery trade or to be butchered. Fortunately officials of Rwanda have recently been able to rescue a few of these poor and helpless baby gorillas. So at least some of them are in safety now. However, will it be also possible to save the species? After all, not even 700 individuals are left in the wild.
