Since the beginning of time, mankind has always defined the value of an object or resource based on its rarity and how complicated it is to find or create it. It has been the case for gold, diamonds or even oil, with the latter even being submitted to other, less predictable, variables such as green taxes, speculation and geopolitics. Lately, the combination of all these factors has kept oil prices at a record high. But could science change this?
