The Minister for Primary Industries is waiting to release a code of welfare for layer hens that will allow them to continue to be kept in cages. Mojo Mathers has asked him to reject that code but he has not yet made a decision, saying that he will wait for the results of the review of the Animal Welfare Act before he decides. If you care about the lives of the 3 million chickens that lay our eggs, ask the Minister to reject the code of welfare and get rid of the loopholes that have allowed them to be kept in cruel cages all this time....
