Latest headlines put spotlight on dangerous and unwanted ingredients in meat

In UK a criminal inquiry was started by concerned citizens who want to know what the BSE-situation really has been since the first cases of BSE were identified in 1986. What did previous governments know about the dangers of meat from cows infected with BSE, and what filtered actually down to consumers? A petition handed over to 10 Downing Street demands clarification.

In the U.S. antibiotic-resistant MRSA has for the first time been discovered in supermarket meat and poultry. Heavy use of antibiotics in factory farming may be the reason for bacteria's growing resistance to antibiotics.
