USA: Smitfhield sued over flu death

The lawsuit seeks to determine if Smithfield can be held legally responsible for the woman's death in that the virus is thought to have originated in La Gloria in the Mexican state of Veracruz where Smithfield has an interest in a nearby hog complex(...)

If Steven Trunnell prevails, he could be awarded up to $1 billion in damages, and his lawsuit could prompt additional suits by other families who lost family members because of the flu..........
