A form of the disease called Creutzfeldt-Jacob Disease affects humans and the best evidence available showed they get it from eating beef from cattle with mad cow disease.

Less than 1 percent of the cows used for meat in the country are tested for the disease.

The White House is asking the courts to stop meat-packers from testing all their cattle for mad cow....
