USDA Suspends Calif. Meat Company, Bad Meat Delivered to Schools

The investigation by the HSUS found that animals at the slaughter plant were tortured before slaughter

The Minnesota Department of Education has placed a hold on all beef products from the Westland Hallmark Meat Company Wednesday after accusations and evidence of animal cruelty arose. They were directed by the USDA to place the suspension.

The hold applies to Westland Hallmark Meat Company beef products delivered to schools through the Food Distribution Program as Fine Ground Beef between October 26 and November 5, 2007...
