Eating Cruciferous Vegetables Can Help Reduce the Risk of Several Types of Cancer,Including Breast CancerSep 26,2006 Breast cancer is the second leading cause of cancer deaths among women. Making specific diet changes is one of many steps -- like regular exercise and reducing fat intake -- women can take to reduce the chance of being diagnosed with this deadly disease. "There is much research showing a strong connection between the regular consumption of cruciferous vegetables like broccoli, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage -- and more specifically, its fermented form, Sauerkraut -- and a reduced risk of breast cancer," said Ryan Downs, co-owner of Great Lakes Kraut Co. of Bear Creek, Wis. "It's very encouraging news."..
