CAP: Commission launches a call for tenders for an analysis on future developments in the milk sector

The European Commission has launched a call for tenders for an analysis on future developments in the milk sector, focussing on the market situation from 2015 onwards when the current production quota system ends.

Building on the opinions of a group of highly reputed independent experts, the aim of this project is to identify major future trends, driving factors, perspectives and challenges for the EU milk sector following the abolition of the milk quota system in 2015.

The analysis will focus on two main themes: i) market balance and competitiveness of the European milk sector and ii) sustainable milk production in the EU including its territorial dimension.

The deadline for submitting offers is 8 October 2012, and the Commission intends to award the contract by the end of 2012. The contractor will have to carry out the study within 7 months from the signature of the contract.
