EU: Commission welcomes participation to the first International Conference on Animal Welfare Education

The European Commission and the Belgian Presidency of the EU would like to invite international organizations with experience in animal welfare education to participate as exhibitors during a two-day conference that will take place in Brussels on October 1-2. The exhibition of animal welfare education projects/tools will take place on the second day of the First International Conference on Animal Welfare Education – Everybody is responsible.

The minimum requirements for the participation of potential exhibitors are:

--Their projects have to be implemented internationally
--These projects should be running for at least a year
--Target audiences should be identified and evaluation systems should be in place
--Availability of high-quality, science-based materials/tools for dissemination/distribution during the event

Interested parties should submit an application (along with a short description of their organization and contact details, i.e. e-mail addresses, phone numbers) by April 30, 2010 to the following e-mail address: SANCO-EXHIBITORS-AW-EDUCATION@ec.europa.eu

A Steering Committee -comprised of academics, representatives of NGOs and other professionals- will examine the applications. The Commission will send information to those who will express interest before 30 June 2010. The Commission would like to note that the expenses to participate in the exhibition would be covered by the exhibitors themselves.
