... Research shows that by swapping your red meat intake, even in part, with vegetable protein sources such as legumes and tofu, you can lower your risk for heart disease, diabetes, colon and breast cancers. Also, vegetarians tend to have a lower body-mass index than beef and chicken eaters.

Finally, sources of animal protein tend to be more caloric than those of veggie proteins, so going green may even help you save calories and slim down.....
