EU animal testing review gets under way - but how tough will the new rules be?24 February 2009
Moves to tighten up the EU laws on animal testing are gathering pace, with a new draft directive expected to be adopted by a European Parliament committee at the end of March.
When it was first announced last year, the move sparked concern among industry and biomedical researchers that testing would be wrapped in unnecessary red tape, but the signs now are that the parliament intends to water down some of its provisions...
